Minton Fire

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA — A brush fire was reported at 1601 this afternoon to CAL FIRE Fire Officials, which broke out on Minton Road and Juniper Flats Road in Nuevo this afternoon.
At the initial beginning of the incident, the fire was listed as 10 acres in size with a moderate rate of spread (fire behavior), says the local Fire Agency while others were reporting it with a dangerous rate of spread and with a potential of up to 100 acres.
Aviation Assets responded and were on the fire scene quickly. They included the following below:
- AA 651
- Air Tankers: 70, 71, 72, and 73
- Copter 608
- Seat AT: S2
- Helitanker: 8HT
The fire was stopped at a total of 25 acres, thankfully by water and retardant drops and enabling resources to hold it to this number of fuels burned.
No evacuations are in effect.
No shelters are open.
