Battle Mountain Complex

UKIAH, OREGON — The Battle Mountain Complex is made up of several wildfires. Collectively, the fires have burned a total of 183,026 acres of timber, grass, and brush. There is a 95% containment status listed for today.

These fires are located approximately eight miles north of Ukiah, Oregon.

Two of the wildfires North Fork Owens and the Moneky Creek Fires started in northeast Oregon in the late afternoon and evening on July 17, 2024. They would be two of 17 fires burning on this date and the bigger of them all. The Snake Fire merged with the Monkey Creek Fire on July 22, 2024, and the Boneyard Fire would later merge in with the Monkey Creek Fire on July 25, 2024.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation.

There are many structures still threatened, which include 357 homes and 530 minor buildings, even though the fire behavior is now being observed as minimal and smoldering.

Destroyed structures: 7 homes and 10 other minor ones.

Damaged: 2 homes.

The Lead Fire Agency is the OR Department of Forestry and under the management of a Type 3 IMT which assumed command on August 20, 2024.

Incident Cooperators include the U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Umatilla National Forest, SW IMY

There is a total of 127 personnel with four engines.

Though Inciweb stopped reporting this wildfire incident on August 20, 2024, there are still press releases through the NIFC in sharing information provided by area Fire Managers.

The total cost-to-date for fire suppression and containment efforts has reached a whopping 84.8 Million Dollars.
