Wiley Flat Fire

CROOK COUNTY, OR — A new wildfire has been ignited in the State, called the Wiley Fire which is located near Maury Mountain in the Ochoco National Forest, prompting evacuation orders for ( posted 9/2/2024 1407 PT ) Source: USFS – Ochoco National Forest.

- Power Point Lookout
- SE Drake Creek Road (FS Rd 16) from Paulina Hwy south approx 3-4 miles south
- Extends east approximately 5 miles
Some outlets are reporting the cause is lightning caused but according to the USFS, they are saying the cause is undetermined at the time of this post.
According to wildcad.net, the fire is listed at 1,200 acres.
The containment status is unknown at this time.
Fire behavior is very active and has a high rate of spread. Winds are strong and the fire is moving east.
