The LINE FIRE formerly the BASELINE FIRE is located about one mile east of Hwy 330 in Highland (San Bernardino County), California, It ignited just a short while ago and has been said to have active fire behavior with a moderate rate of spread uphill in a neartheastely direction.
About 20-plus acres have been burned and has the potential to burn up to 100-plus acres.
The fire is currently not threatening the Highway and locals are reporting the Hwy is still open but drivers need to be cautious with the possibility of smoke over the roadway and limited visibility.

This fire could grow quickly because of the up winds at this time of the day. If it gets away from the USFS it could travel to Big Bear in no time. I used to live up the mountain for many years. Beautiful country. Thanks for covering.
