The BACHELOR COMPLEX is located on Mt. Bachelor, about 20 miles southwest of Bend, Oregon on Deschutes National Forest lands which is burning from an unknown cause which was stated on September 6, 2024, at 1111 hours PT.
The Complex consists of multiple wildfires but here is a partial list:
Firestone Fire | 9,117 acres.
Flat Top Fire | 33,172 acres.
Little Lava Fire
Lucky Butte Fire | 30 acres.
The fires still remain at a 0% containment status with timber and closed timber as heavy fire fuels that have been seriously burned. Fire behavior has been observed as moderate with single tree torching, flanking, and backing.
There are 520 fire personnel with 14 crews and 18 engines under the management of the Northwest 3 Complex IMT, which assumed command on September 10th.
About 6,162 homes and 764 multiple residences, along with 283 non-residential commercial properties and 274 minor structures are under direct threat. Evacuation notices and orders are in effect.
The total cost-to-date for fire suppression and containment efforts has reached a whopping 3.6 Million Dollars.
