Buck Creek Fire

The BUCK CREEK FIRE is burning about 10 miles southwest of Silver Lake, Oregon on the Fremont-Winema National Forest which was sparked by lightning on September 7, 2024. This is said to be in semi-primitive areas of the forest with limited road access.
About 5,647 acres of heavy timber have been burned and currently have a 3% containment status.
There is a total of 509 personnel along with 12 crews, nine helicopters, and 14 engines under the management of the Northwest Complex IMT 10, which assumed command on September 10th at 0600 hours PT.
The cost-to-date has reached 5.1 Million Dollars.
