Wiley Flat Fire
The WILEY FLAT FIRE was ignited by lightning as it passed over 22 miles northeast of Brothers, Oregon, on September 2, 2024. It is said to be also 31 miles southeast of Prineville.

The fire then spread to grass and brush, burning about 30,186 acres as of today’s date.
Today, the fire has a 94% containment status, but it is still threatening 15 homes. Its fire behavior has been reduced to minimal fire activity with creeping and smoldering.
There are 141 total personnel along with one crew and three engines under the management of the fire by the USDA Forest Service’s AK Team 3, a CIMT. They are also managing the Rail Ridge Fire.
