Red Rock Fire

SIT REP 1: OCTOBER 13, 2024, 1705 HOURS PDT
The RED ROCK FIRE broke out on Monday, September 2, 2024, at 1645 hours about 15 miles west of Salmon, Idaho on the Salmon-Challis National Forest (US Forest Service).
The command is under a CIMT, the SW Team 3.
About 76,341 acres of grass, hardwood litter, and timber. There is a 19% containment status. Fire Officials expect to be reached on October 31, 2024.
There still remains to be active fire behavior with uphill runs, wind-driven runs, and torching.
Both the Red Rock and Black Eagle Fires merged on October 14, 2024.
There are a total of 630 personnel along with 13 crews, 29 engines, and 8 crews.
There have been seven (7) structures have been lost. Sagre-grouse habitat threatened.
The fire was caused by lightning.
