Dove Fire

KERN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA — The Dove Fire broke out on October 19, 2024, at 1259 hours PDT, on Dove Spronga Canyon Road in Kelso Valley about 24 miles northwest of California City.
Fire behavior is moderate with wind-driven runs, running and backing, which has forced area evacuations, road and trial closures.
FIRE FACT | Since January 1, 2024, there have been 6,934 wildfires that have burned 1,010,060 acres destroying 1,437 structures and killing one civilian. – CAL FIRE
The Lead Fire Agency is BLM – California Desert District.
There are about 120 total personnel with three (3) crews, eight (8) engines and eight (8) helicopters.
The fire has burned about 1,000 acres and has a 0% containment status.
The cause is unknown and under investigation.
CTD: $500,000.
