INCIDENT SUMMARY: The MOUNTAIN FIRE ignited on November 6, 2024, at 0851 hours PT, from an unknown cause in the 7900 block of Balcom Canyon and Bradley Roads in the Solis community in Ventura County, California.

INCIDENT COOPERATORS:

  • CAL FIRE Fire personnel & equipment, IMT 5 (managing the incident).
  • Ventura County: Public Health, FD, FD PIO, Sheriff’s Office, Public Works, EMA, Broadband, AG Weights and Measures, Animal Services, Fairgrounds, Human Resources, and the Supervisors Office.
  • Southern CA Edison (SCE)
  • CHP
  • Santa Paula PD
  • Governor Gavin Newsom’s Office
  • SoCal Gas
  • Calleguas Water
  • CCC
  • Red Cross
  • City of Camarillo

RESOURCES: There is 2,999 personnel along with 21 helicopters, 497 engines, 12 dozers, 32 water tenders, 60 crews and 6 other assigned to this incident.

CURRENT STATUS: Fire behavior has been observed as extreme with wind-driven runs, backing and long-range spotting. The fire has burned about 20,765 acres and has a 14% containment status, but not before it began burning everything in its path and destroying many family and business memories along with it. There have been 6 injuries (unknown if residents only or if this number includes firefighters).

REPOPULATION UPDATE: County Officials partnering with both Law Enforcement and Fire agencies are working to allow the repopulation of residents back into evacuated areas, as soon as possible.
