>> Incident Summary >> The PALISADES FIRE ignited from an unknown cause on January 7, 2025, at 1030 hours PT which has been said to be in the original area southeast of Palisades Drive in Pacific Palisades (Los Angeles County) and about four miles west of Brentwood, California.

>> Resources >> Currently, there is a total of 2,321 personnel (with more on order) with 12 copters (when they are able to fly), 297 engines, 12 bulldozers, nine water tenders, 44 crews, and 1,947 other assigned resources.
>> Size Up / Current Status >> About 19,978 acres of chaparral, brush, and grass have been burned and there is now a 6% containment status. Fire behavior has been observed by Fire Officials and those locally, as well as, around the world as extreme with wind-driven runs and long-range spotting. There is evacuations in effect, which include warnings and mandatory orders.
>> Cost-to-Date >> On the low side of the cost-to-date for fire suppression and containment status efforts is $2.5 Million. There are no preliminary cost-to-date for structural and property losses. This will take a long before this occurs.

>> Weather Report >> Strong winds & low RH will continue to support Critical fire-weather conditions across the LA Basin into the higher terrain of far southern CA tonight and into Friday. Santa Ana winds will begin to taper off by Friday evening. Still lingering are elevated to near critical fire-weather conditions, and winds will decrease on Saturday.
