Bainbridge Island FD

1/16/2025: The BIFD firefighters were assigned to the Palisades Fire located in the Pacific Palisades, CA area. They were assigned to patrol around homes and commercial buildings for remaining hot spots, and ID hazards and respond to flare-ups and structure fires, as well as new starts. On January 15th, they helped a homeowner gain access to their safe, which was the only thing that survived the fire. Their agency states they are expecting their tired firefighters to return at the end of the month.

1/9/2025: Engine 25 and four of its members were deployed early morning to the fire in California as part of a Kitsap County Strike Team. They arrived on January 10th.

Benton County Fire District 1

1/13/2025: Last Saturday, crews started to work 24-hour shifts assigned to the Mandeville Canyon neighborhood to provide structure protection and structure triage. They were off on Sunday and back to work on Monday morning.

1/12/2025: All fire apparatus are required to go through a mandatory inspection to ensure their equipment is functional and operational. This does not include an emissions test as someone falsely stated that multiple Oregon apparatus were not allowed to enter the State of California. BCFD1 is part of a WA Strike Team.

1/11/2025: Their crew arrives at Staging in Malibu and is assigned to the Palisades Fire.

1/09/2025: BCFD1 received their request from the WA Emergency Management Assistance Compact for a structure protection engine and support crew, which is one of several agencies representing the southeastern portion of our State (Washington).

Benton County Fire District 4

1/09/2025: Three members were deployed on this date as part of a structure protection Strike Team. Members: Lt. Putz, FF Andrews and FF Overson. They will remain deployed for 18 days.

Bothell FD

1/14/2025: This is Day 4 for this agency on the CA wildfire, which is working alongside members of the LA County FD on structure protection and responding to flare-ups and new fire starts. On this day, it was stated a RED FLAG WARNING had been issued for the next few days. They are operating on a 24-hour shift during their operational period, which does not include a one-hour commute time in arriving from the briefing area to the fire ground they are assigned to. Their day off includes rest, meals, and recovery to stay mission-ready.

1/11/2025: Five members with the BFD, are assisting with structure protection alongside other fire agencies. They say it is challenging but they are doing well.

1/10/2025: Crews leave Bothell and begin their journey to California. Members: T John Deaver, LT Jeff Salatino, LDO Bryan Schulz, LDO Tyler Griffith, and LT-LDO Kyle Fleischbein.

Camano Island Fire & Rescue (Island County FD)

1/13/2025: Crews are assigned to the Palisades Fire and working very long days. Assistant Chief Allen is in LA Training as a Strike Team Leader.

1/09/2025: An engine and crew were deployed on this date. Members: Cpt. Mezzone, Medic Shockley, and FF Down, plus FF Erickson from North Whidbey F&R.

Central Mason Fire & EMS

1/17/2025: Crews are now assigned to the Initial Attack unit for Topanga Canyon. In the morning, they were working in the structure protection group and tasked with fire line enhancement.

1/14/2025: The Central Mason crew and the Region 6 Strike Team became star-struck when they met Sean Penn. He is helping with relief efforts for the wildfires. Crews state they have been working long shifts, assisting with structure protection and other life-saving duties.

1/13/2025: Crews are part of the WA Strike Team 6. They prepositioned themselves with other crews (from all over) for an area IA.

1/10/2025: The crews are in Davis, California which is west of Sacramento and have been cleared to where they were headed south to the wildfires.

1/09/2025: Central Mason firefighters leave the State to head towards California. Members: Capt: Mark Frazier, Lt. Brandon Heggie, and FF Beau Ward with one member with the North Mason RFA FF/PM Kyle Severance.

Central Whidbey Island Fire & Rescue

1/13/2025: They arrived in Davis, California on the night of January 10th, 2025. They passed their apparatus inspection on the morning of the 11th and were immediately assigned to the Palisades Fire with their Strike Team.

1/10/2025: This morning they deployed with a team of red-card-certified wildland firefighters who left at 0400 hours PT. Their road trip will take up to 48 hours per their press release. Their deployment can take up to 14 days and be extended in some cases. Members: Engine Boss Kole Kellison, Driver Jeff Rhodes, Firefighters Justin Burnett, and Ken Lindenstein.

Chelan Fire & Rescue

1/8/2025: The only update from this Fire Agency states they were deployed with other Washington Fire agencies. Members: Capt. Taylor Rains, FFs Brandon Fogelson, Stephanie Preheim, and Duke Odenrider.

City of Bremerton FD

1/16/2025: E1 took a quick break to watch the sunset during their 24-hour shift. They said it is surreal to see something so peaceful and beautiful amongst the destruction the local communities have faced. They were facing west and while this sunset they were amazed by its natural beauty then to turn around, all they see is complete destruction. It’s like a bomb went off. Members: Lt. Jeremy Dixon (BFD Crew Boss), Firefighters Jerry Lane, Carlo Celeste and Jeremy Carnahan.

1/14/2025: E1 refills its tank from a hydrant after putting out fires in the Palisades area. They were said to be doing well and their spirits were high.

1/12/2025: Firefighters reached the Santa Monica Beach area early this morning, safely.

City of Walla Walla FD

1/16/2025: Their crew was providing structure protection and mop-up operations around homes, addressing hot spots, and working 24-30 hour shifts. They are due to return on January 25 or 26, 2025.

1/6/2025: Firefighters left at 0600 hours this morning, where they said it to take up to 48 hours to arrive in California and another two days to return home. They will be deployed for a total of 14 days. They are part of the SE Washington Strike Team along with others from Walla Walla County Fire Districts 1 and 4, which includes Pasco FD and Benton County Fire Districts 1 and 4. There were seven (7) Strike Teams and one Task Force of engines, with a total of 150+ firefighters. Members: Lt. Paul Renwick, Engineer/PM Derick Schoessler, FF/PM Justin Elsopm, and FF/EM Bailey Lesko.

Clark County FD 10

1/09/2025: Members of the Clark County Fire Mobilization deployed three (3) fire engines and crews from Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue, along with Clark County FD3. A total of 45 engines and 180 personnel were sent from Washington State. They were sending one Strike Team Leader and a trainee, along with a Chief as a Washington State Representative to help coordinate efforts on the ground.

1/15/2025: The crews report they have been actively engaged in structure protection and evacuating residents in the Mandeville Canyon area on both the Palisades and Eaton wildfires. They were prepping for reassignment with RED FLAG WARNINGS.

1/9/2025: The crew left this morning.

Franklin County Fire District 3

1/09/2025: The fire agency sent one of their firefighters along with Walla Walla County Fire District 5.

Hoquiam FD, McLane Black Lake FD

1/14/2025: Firefighters with Hoquiam are teamed up with members of the McLane Black Lake FD as part of the Central Region Strike Team and are assigned to the Structure Protection group and to the Initial Attack Response Unit.

1/12/2025: The group has been designated as Task Force 6 structure group of the Palisades Fire group.

1/10/2025: Washington State had a total of 11 Strike Teams deployed with 55 fire engines, 13 command vehicles, and 200 personnel, along with 2 DNR strike teams comprised of 10 engines and 35 personnel members.

King County Fire District 27 (Fall City FD)

1/17/2025: Deputy Chief Patrick LeDoux was deployed two (2) days ago as one of Washington State representatives for the Palisades Fire. He is one of three (3) reps who help with the coordination of the Strike Teams with paperwork, injuries, mechanical issues, and any crew issues. Other Members deployed: Capt. Scott Fleming, and FF Parker Dumas.

1/14/2025: They were putting in long hours with structure protection like many of their counterparts are all over the Los Angeles area.

Kittitas County Fire District 7

1/12/2025: They arrived in the early morning Deployed members with KCFD7 are part of the Washington Task Force 10, including the Upper and Lower Kittitas County Fire Districts, and were quickly assigned to the Palisades Fire, in Division Alpha.

1/11/2025: KCFD7 and KCFD1 deployed together.

Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority

1/9/2025: Two engine companies deployed this morning along with Seattle FD, South King Fire & Rescue, Valley Regional Fire Authority, and Eastside Fire & Rescue. Their deployment is estimated to be 14 days along with their fellow other deployed firefighters.

Redmond FD

1/11/2025: They were assigned to the Palisades Fire. They are working beside Northwest, Oregon, and California crews on the Palisades Fire in Zuma Canyon and Malibu Park. Members: Lt. Jeff Poff, Driver/Engineer Paul Smith, and Firefighters Jeff Carroll and Lucas Hughes.

1/12/2025: SFD firefighters are working long shifts as they battle the LA fires happening in California.

1/09/2025: Four Firefighters deployed arrived in Woodland, California late last night. Their apparatus was put through a mandatory mechanical inspection today. Upon completion, they were headed to the Palisades Fire to tie in with other resources.

Shoreline FD

1/16/2025: Members deployed are with a WA Strike Team who geared up this morning to work another long shift.

1/13/2025: The Shoreline FD members are part of the Washington Strike Team 3 which just finished a 24+ hour-long shift in which they were assigned to structure protection, assess homes, check water supplies and hydrants, and track those sheltering-in-place.

1/12/2025: The team members worked as part of several structural Strike Teams and prepared/held the fire line to protect homes in the Mandeville Canyon area as flames moved throughout the area.
