The LILAC FIRE was one of three wildfires that started early this morning, Tuesday, 0119 hours PT, from an unknown cause, which is under investigation. The fire is burning on I-15 just north of West Lilac Road in Bonsall (San Diego County), California.
Just after the wildfire started, at 0209 hours, the fire was intense, fierce, and beginning to threaten structures. It was listed at 20 acres at that time with a moderate rate of spread with a 0% containment status.
Currently, the wildfire is listed at 80 acres and has a 30% containment status.
Firefighters with the CAL FIRE San Diego unit will remain on the scene until they have completed a 100% containment line around the fire and have put out all interior fires inside the perimeter.

The Lead Fire Agency is the CAL FIRE San Diego Unit with 66 total personnel, two helicopters, 53 engines, four dozers and four water tenders, seven crews, and nine other types of resources on the scene, but should be released shortly, if not already.
No IMT units are assigned at this time.

The PALA FIRE was located on I15 Southbound and Stewart Canyon Road and was said to be listed at 16.84 acres, with the forward progression of the fire stopped around 0525 hours this morning.
The rate of spread has been stopped. At the moment, Fire Officials stated it was holding at 17 acres and has gained a 100% containment status as of 1104 hours PT.
This objective was successfully assisted by night-flying aircraft which arrived on the scene around 0525 hours this morning.
While these two wildfires were burning, a third broke out in the area but was quickly put out. The RIVERVIEW FIRE was located near East Mission Road and River Drive in the community of Fallbrook, California.
It was determined to be a minimum of one acre in size with a moderate spread and threatening structures.
Dangerous Fire Weather Forecasted
Per CAL FIRE (State Fire): “A Particularly Dangerous Situation/Red Flag Warning is in effect through 10 a.m. today over areas of Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, and San Diego Counties. A Fire Weather Watch will remain in effect from Tuesday evening through Thursday evening for these counties also.
A Red Flag Warning will remain effective until 2 p.m. today for strong winds and low relative humidity for the Eastern Santa Monica Mountains, Catalina and Santa Barbara Mountains, Palos Verde Hills, Antelope Valley Foothills, and the Channel Islands.”
