Palisades Fire

LOS ANGELES COUNTY — Multiple wildfires are burning in this county in the State of California, where more of the same are occurring with some being started by an alleged arsonist and other causes still under close scrutiny and an intense investigation.
This prompted a massive mutual aid response like no other, this assistance would come with urgency from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, across the State of California, Texas, New Mexico, Montana, Utah, and more just l like them. Some even were deployed from our friends/allies in Canada and Mexico. Thank you Firefighters, Medics, Incident Command, Battalion Chiefs, and more!
The wildfires have been deadly, destructive, and costly in many ways,. not only financially but emotionally. We send our sincere sympathies to those who have lost loved ones, and our thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost so much financially, emotionally, homes, businesses, and life as we know it. We are here for you.

In this post, we are speaking of the PALISADES FIRE, which ignited from an unknown cause on January 7, 2025, at 1030 hours in the morning. It originated southeast of Palisades Drive in Pacific Palisades, California.
Today, the fire has burned approximately 23,448 acres and has a 68% containment status. According to CAL FIRE: “Overnight, weak Santa Ana winds were observed across the incident with low humidity levels. The Red Flag Warning will remain in effect until 8:00 pm Thursday evening. The public is reminded to stay vigilant on current fire conditions. Please continue to adhere to road closures and evacuation orders.”
Several agencies are still in Unified Command, including CAL FIRE, Los Angeles County and City Fire Departments, and the Los Angeles Police Department.
Thousands of firefighters and resources remain on the scene, which include:
- Personnel: 4,237
- Helicopters: 30
- Engines: 393
- Dozers: 19
- Water Tenders: 18
- Crews: 71
- Other Assigned Resources: 5
Damage Assessments Including Injuries and Deaths have been confirmed by Fire, Law Enforcement, and SAR teams:
- Damaged Structures: 890
- Destroyed Structures: 6,662
- Deaths: 11
- Injuries: 4
- Cost-to-Date: 167 Million Dollars
