SIT REP 1 | JUNE 14, 2025 | SATURDAY

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY — The RANCH FIRE is burning on Bowen Ranch Road and Coxey Truck Trail, south of Apple Valley in California.

The fire broke out on June 10, 2025, at 1433 hours and has now shown to have burned about 4,293 acres and has a 75% containment status listed on it.

Currently, the incident is in Unified Command with CAL FIRE San Bernardino-Inyo-Mono Unit, Apple Valley Fire Protection District, and BLM (Bureau of Land Management). There is no IMT team assigned at the time of this update.

HISTORICAL WILDFIRES WITH THE SAME INCIDENT NAME

June 4, 2024 – San Diego County

May 16, 2024 – Butte County

The Ranch Fire started on May 15, 2024, at 1822 hours PDT, and was located on Big Bend Road and Newsome Ranch in Butte County, California. The fire was designated as a wildfire incident. It had burned about 10 acres and had a 50% containment status listed. This was in the Concow community. The cause at the time was unknown and under investigation. There were 6 engine/truck companies, 3 water tenders, 2 volunteer companies, 3 fire crews, 3 overhead personnel, and a total of 75 personnel assigned to the incident. There were evacuation warnings issued, but by the time this update was released, they had been downgraded by Fire Officials.

August 31, 2023 – Santa Barbara County

A wildfire was burning on US-101, south of Hwy 154, north of Buellton.

August 18, 2023 – Siskiyou County

On this date, the Ranch Fire had burned about 700 acres and had a 40% containment status listed. This was part of the Siskiyou August Lightning Complex incident. The Long Fire had a 75% containment status and burned about 75 acres, along with the Ash Fire burned 15 acres and was listed at 40% containment status.

September 25, 2021Butte County

On this date, firefighters with CAL FIRE / Butte County FD responded to a structure fire in Forest Ranch, resulting in damage to the interior of the residence. There was no extension to the brush on the exterior but Fire Officials called this incident under the Ranch Fire designator name.

August 30, 2021 – San Diego County

Firefighters with CAL FIRE San Diego arrived on the scene of a brush fire near Eagle Peak Road, west of the Pine Hills community. The fire at the time was said to be two acres in size, with a slow rate of spread in grass fire fuels. It was also said that access was said to be difficult by ground, and firefighting assets were making great progress from the air. Engines, crews, and dozers were also accessing the area.

July 28, 2018 – Statewide California wildfires

The Ranch Fire was part of several fires on this date, which included the following: Carr Fire, River Fire, Ferguson Fire, Roxie Fire, Whaleback Fire, and the Cranston Fire.

February 12, 2018 – Butte County

Gusty winds in the Forest Ranch area caused power lines to be dropped to the ground and prompting firefighters and equipment to be dispatched for a one-acre fire on both sides of Hwy 32.
