The MONTE FIRE is located on El Monte Road, near Lakeside in the State of California (USA), which ignited on June 17, 2025, at 1459 hours PDT.
The forward progression was stopped about three hours ago per the CAL FIRE Fire Officials.
The Lead Fire Agency is CAL FIRE’s San Diego Unit.

There is no IMT assigned to this incident.
The total number of personnel are currently at 720 with five (5) helicopters, 48 engines, two (2) dozers, three (3) water tenders, 28 crews and 98 other assigned resources. Some of these resources may have been reduced since the three hour last update by CAL FIRE but we are going by what they have released on their Social Media page and will update if there is significant wildfire activity or a greater change in information.
About 1,051 acres have been burned and there is a 50% containment status.
The cause is unknown and under investigation by local Fire and Law Enforcement agencies.
No preliminary cause has been released at the time of this post.
