SIT REP 1 | JUNE 28, 2025, SATURDAY | 1815 HOURS PDT
CALIFORNIA — The SMILEY FIRE is located on San Timoteo Canyon Road and Smiley Boulevard, in the unincorporated area north of Moreno Valley. It is said to be burning between San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
It started this afternoon at 1436 hours PDT.

Once fire resources with the CAL FIRE BDU arrived on the scene, they were greeted by a five-acre in size brush fire running uphill at a moderate rate of spread.
Resources included: H607, P3521, BE552, BE251, BE264, ME261, ME262, OES8638, WT263, E3178, OGN2, OGN6, E3551, E3569, E10G and TD3540. AA12, AT72, AT73, AT162 and AT182.
The Incident Cooperators include: CAL FIRE/Riverside County FD, Riverside County Government, CAL FIRE BDUU, and the Redlands FD.
The fire’s forward rate of spread was stopped at 1744 hours. Fire resources will remain on the scene for the next few hours to work towards full containment and full control of the fire.
Fire Command is in Unified Command with CAL FIRE /Riverside County FD and the Redlands City FD.
There were no threats to nearby structures or evacuations in effect.
The cause is currently unknown at the time of this post.
Fire Officials last released the fire had burned about 30 acres and has a current 10% containment status.
