SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WASHINGTON — Multiple first responder resources from various agencies including the North County Regional Fire Authority, WA State Patrol, WSDOT IRT, WA DNR, and other supporting partners, were dispatched to multiple fires burning on I-5 in the County this afternoon.

Some people were speculating that someone had intentionally set them, but there was no indication of this as released by various sources.

A WA DNR rotor was said to have been dispatched and helped support ground fire resources by dropping over the fire.

Some of these wildfire incidents occurred in these areas just before 1330 hours PT:

  • Arlington: Exits 206 and 210
  • I-5 northbound @ SR 531.
  • I-5 @ 184th St NE
  • I-5 @ King-Thompson Rd

With so many fires along the roadside, this prompted the freeway in this location was fully shut down

This also snarled southbound traffic as drivers seemed to be distracted by all of the personnel and equipment blocking the roadway in the northbound lanes.

There was no cause released for each of these wildfire incidents.

No reports of injuries to personnel or civilians were released.
