INCIDENT SUMMARY

The DRAGON BRAVO FIRE started on July 4, 2025, from lightning sparked two miles west of North Rim in the Grand Canyon, in the State of Arizona (USA).in the Grand Canyon North Rim in Arizona.

FIRE COOPERATORS

Management of the fire will transfer from the SW Team 2, a CIMT, to the GB Team 7, another CIMT, on Monday, August 11, 2025.

There is a total of 1,326 personnel along with 22 crews, 35 engines and eight helicopters.

CURRENT STATUS

The fire has burned about 143,489 acres of mixed conifer, aspen regeneration, ponderosa pine, pinon-juniper, and sage. Firefighters currently have this wildfire at a 37% containment status.

Active fire has been observed, along with short crown runs, flanking, and with long-range spotting.

DAMAGE ASSESSMENT

About 113 structures, including a historic lodge, have been lost.

The cost to date has reached 54.9 million dollars for fire suppression and containment efforts.
