A wildfire named the BEAR GULCH FIRE has been burning on the north side of Lake Cushman near Mount Rose in the Olympic National Forest, near Hoodsport, Washington.

Disturbing news is being reported by another fire news channel stating that the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, along with ICE, visited the fire ground today, August 27, 2025, where two contract firefighters were forced to show proof of their identity and were said to have been detained. Multiple media news outlets from The Seattle Times, and The Hotshot Wake Up were among many who are reporting this information over a course of three hours.

Currently, the fire has burned 8,949 acres, and there is a 13% containment status.

This is a human-caused wildfire, which ignited on July 6, 2025, at 2037 hours PDT.

There are currently 428 total personnel who are still focused on full suppression and 100% containment.
