About the Labor Mountain Fire

The LABOR MTN FIRE is burning about 10 miles north of Cle Elum, Washington, in Kittitas County, but more recently, this morning has moved into Chelan County, forcing multiple urgent evacuations by the Sheriff’s Office. (please see info above)

Fire Officials reported another active fire day since it was sparked by lightning on September 1, 2025. This is due to gusty winds, causing large smoke columns to be visible around the region. According to those in Kittitas County, there are no evacuation orders in place at the time of this update (9/21/2025 @ 1429 PT)

The fire has burned about 7,618 acres of timber, and there is a 7% containment status. It is continuously threatening about 12 homes & 20 other minor structures.

About 291 total personnel are assigned alongside 9 crews and 13 engines.
