SIT REP 2: April 5, 2026 1945 PT

The fire is being held at 2,712 burned acres of southern rough and has a 50% containment status, according to State Fire Officials. A small amount of precip fell over several parts of the fire area, but it was not enough to put the fire out. They are expecting more in the near future.

Unified Command with the GFC (IMT) and the Florida Forest Services (FFS) remains in effect. Crews had worked throughout the day in building and strengthening containment lines, focusing on the western front where some active fire had been observed earlier. Other fire activities include the mopping up of hot spots and using both heavy and medium dozers to continue fire suppression and containment efforts.

A forecast of future winds is of concern to Fire Managers as they may challenge already established containment lines.
