As the saying goes, “The natives are restless” in Boston tonight as thousands of celebrating fans flood into City streets after the Boston Red Sox win the World Series in Fenway Park.
Earlier in the day, several bomb threats were made with one serious enough for the have been made and had to be contended with throughout the evening with the latest of a van found abandoned and a concern for Police Officers.
Now, police are having to deal with thousands of people screaming and running through various Boston streets Officers trying to stop the crowd from moving on to the baseball field where players are having to be protected from crowds.
As Officers work to contain the celebrating crowds, communication seems to be an issue with screaming fans and difficulty with hearing their own coordinating efforts over the radio. Some areas are reporting limited Police presence with thousands of out-of-control fans. Officers are scrambling to move resources into place.
It almost seems like de ja vu of what Seattle endured with people flooding streets and causing major damage, but Boston seems to be bearing the stress of protecting people more directly from intentional harm of crazed fans. It seems as if it is ten-fold this evening as reports of fans breaching various gates of the stadium trying to reach players and employees.
What are people thinking? It’s a game that has generated a lot of craziness than rational people watching it calmly in their living rooms. Do they not realize that every game has a winner and a loser? It is how the game must be played.
Currently, fans are inside the stadium trying to get through various avenues but Police are pushing them back and trying to get them to exit out of the building. Communication has been difficult and people shouting in the background over radio can be heard clearly.
Fighting and riots are breaking out in the area and uncontrolled chaos seems to be pushing into Police lines. Police are hoping they will run out of energy but it sounds like they are on beginning.
