Seattle, Washington – A fire broke out in a two-story building in downtown at the intersection of 1st Avenue & Wall at around 1515 hours today.
Units dispatched: Aid 2, Air9, Battalions 6 & 7, Deputy 1, Engines 22, 25, 6, 8, Safety 2, Staff10. Additional units dispatched were: Battalion 5, Engines 10, 5, 6 and Ladder 3.
Scanner feed stated the fire was to the building ventilation system and ventilation had been set-up. A recommendation was made to start reducing staffing. Engines 6 & Ladder 10 went back in service.
Primary and Secondary searches were conducted on Floors 1 and 2 with nothing found.
It was reported right after that radio traffic, that black smoke was seen by Command on the rooftop around 1535 hours. Firefighters were going to the rooftop to check it out.
The RIT group has already been CODE greened.
Rehab was setup at 2nd & Wall.
