Incident Summary
The #SherpaFire started on June 15th around 1515 hours from an unknown ignition source which is still being investigated by Law Enforcement and Fire Officials.
It is located 11 miles N of Goleta, Camino and Cielo Ridges, California.
There has been 7,893 acres burned.
As of this evening, Fire crews have reached a 54% containment status but Managers say the fire can still grow in size.

The incident is under Unified Command with the following IC’s Opliger, Vangerwen and Wiley of:
- U.S. Forest Service
- CAL Fire
- Santa Barbara County FD
Resources – Fire
There are currently up to 1,926 Firefighters assigned to this fire that represent multiple Agencies.

Current equipment resources on this fire are:
- 129 engines
- 13 water tenders
- 61 hand crews
- 14 dozers
- 18 helicopters
- 5 air tankers including 1 DC-10

Current Status
The current Fire is:
- Moderate
- Little fire growth overnight
- Short runs (along the N & E runs )
- Crews continue to make good progress in securing the W side of the fire.
- Fire continues to flank on the E side, moving up Corral Canyon and on the Santa Ynez Peak to the E side

Evacuations
Mandatory Evacuations have been lifted and some have become Warnings for the folloing areas:
- Refugio Canyon – N of the 1800 block
- Venadito Canyon
- Canada de la Destiladera
- Las Flores Canyon
- Calle Lippizana (near the Equestrian Center)
Closures
- El Capitan Canyon (until June 25th)
- Refugio Canyon (N of 1800 block) to possible reopen on June 25th
- “The Narrows” – Closed to non-traffic from 0700-0900 and 1800-2000 hours.

Evacuation Shelter
The Red Cross has a shelter located at:
- Wake Center @ Santa Barbara City College located at 300 N. Turnpike Road, Santa Barbara, California.
