Washington Wildfire: #SkamaniaFire

STEVENSON, Wash. – Fire crews were dispatched on Friday, June 8, 2018, at 1135 hours PDT via the Pacific Cascade Dispatch Center to respond to Sweeney Falls located in the Columbia River Gorge (Skamania County) near Stevenson, Washington State where a wildfire ignited.

The Columbia River Gorge suffered a very large wildfire called the EAGLE CREEK FIRE which occurred in September 2017.

Fire fuels included Grass, brush and timber.

Unknown resources were dispatched and on-scene quickly.

Locals call Sweeney Falls , The Falls at Sweeney’s Corner but technically this waterfall does not have an official name.  The nameless waterfall is due to the lack of being visible from its home on Highway.

This fire was contained to 0.3 acres.

No cause for this fire is known at the time of this post.
