Update 1 – 6/7/2020 – Sunday

The TORTOLITA FIRE is burning north of Oro Valley, west of Catalina and Saddlebrooke in the Tortolita Mountains, Arizona.

There are approximately 75 firefighters assigned to this wildland fire incident. Incident Cooperators include  Inciweb, SWCC, Golder Ranch FD, AZ Forestry, AZ State Firefighters and Pinal County.

A first due  brush fire engine from the Golder Ranch FD which reported fire was burning on State lands that began on Friday evening from lightning.

Firefighters have had difficulties with fire suppression due to rugged terrain, but have been successfull with burnout operations.

Fire has mostly spread to the south of Bass Spring but had been reported not completely crossed Conchise Springs.

There is minimum threats due to the fire burning away from homes. There are no evacuation orders in effect.

The fire has burned 3,500 acres of grass, dry brush and other vegetation.
