The LONG CREEK FIRE was started by farm equipment on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, around 1245 hours, about eight miles east of Terral and 7.5 miles northwest of Henrietta, Texas.

The fire is under the management of Texas A&M Forest Service’s Incident Command, Daniel Lucy. There are approximately 100 total personnel assigned to the fire.
The current size is 215 acres of heavy brush and long grass with a 50% containment status but has a big change of spreading further into heavy fire fuels if the weather continues to become more hot and dry.
A heat advisory remains in effect for the area from 2000 hours on Wednesday until later afternoon on Thursday, July 28, 2022.
