The SNAKE TRAIL FIRE is burning about three (3) miles northeast of Waseca, Minnesota in the grass, listed as fire fuels. It broke out north of town and spread through slough and wildlife areas.

Fire behavior is active with running and flanking, as of this morning’s briefing via the NIFC.

There are currently 500 acres burned and crews have reached a 20% containment status.

The cost-to-date for fire suppression and containment status has reached $250,000.

This is burning on State DNR lands in the Forestry Lewiston area.

Resources include the Waseca County Sheriff’s Office & Emergency Management Agency, the Waseca Fire Department, and the MN DNR.
