LYMAN, WASHINGTON — A wildfire ignited off at Carpenter Raod and Pipeline in Skagit County on Saturday afternoon from an unknown cause.

Due to poor scanner feed and no connection with Pulsepoint, it was very difficult to get intel on this wildfire, other than through other unverified sources, such as citizen journalists and scanner feed buffs.

Other challenges included wind which carried embers and fire across the area. Some news coverage (unconfirmed) stated there was more than one fire burning in the area.

As this incident unfolded, another call was dispatched by the Skagit 911 communications center of downed trees into power lines. The winds were really ripping today.

Incident Cooperators included: WA DNR Fire, Lyman FD, Hamilton FD, and other Skagit County Fire Districts.

It sounds like crews were talking about alerting residents of a brush fire in the area and were discussing over scanner feed about evacuation warnings being given.

As of the evening presser on X, WA DNR stated the brush fire to be at 20-30 acres with a 20% containment.

Crews will remain on the fire line overnight for fire watch and address any hot spots. Firefighters will continue with reaching their objectives and fully containing the perimeter around the fire.
