Additional Incident Cooperators:

  • Sno & Skagit County Fire District #24 (Darrington Fire District #24)
  • WA DNR
  • Oso FD

Crews arrived on the scene quickly and found a twenty-by-thirty-foot fire in rugged and steep terrain about 600 feet above the closest road. They egressed quickly on the fire.

With winds and terrain, Darrington Fire District #24 Officials determined it was time for a copter to help with drops over the fireline, and therefore the closest aviation asset was out of Olympia. The incident was later turned over to WA DNR who have three brush trucks and two supervisors on scene. They are being assisted by one engine from Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest (USFS).

According to the local Fire District, they are saying this fire incident is expected to continue for several days.

Please avoid the area at all costs, and please do not fly any drones.
