The PIZONA Fire ignited from an unknown cause on June 28, 2024, around 0831 hours PT.

It is burning 35 miles east of Lee Vining and north of McBride Springs in the Inyo National Forest, California.

The command of this incident is under a Type IMT.

There are currently 185 total fire personnel along with six (6) crews, two (2) engines and three (3) copters.

The fire has burned about 2,160 total acres and crews have a 70% containment status. Observed fire behavior is now reduced to minimal levels with smoldering activities.

The cost-to-date for fire suppression and containment efforts have topped out at 3.1 Million Dollars.
