Purple Fire | August 8, 2024 | 1720 Hours PT

The PURPLE FIRE ignited on August 7, 2024, in Butte County, California, has now gained a 95% containment status and is holding to 10 acres burned.

The fire is named for its location on Dickerson Lane and Purple Rocks Lane in the Robinson Mill area.

This incident began to unfold when the fire ignited at 1722 hours and firefighters with CAL FIRE Butte as the lead Administrative Unit.

The cause is unknown and under investigation.

Even though the fire is almost contained at a current 95% containment status, there are still 12 personnel and four engines assigned to this incident. They are currently in mop operations which began last night.

One structure was reported as destroyed.
