Incident Summary

The BOISE FIRE started on August 9, 2024, from an unknown source that is under investigation. It is located south of Orleans off Hwy 96 in the Six Rivers National Forest in Humboldt County, California.

Evacuations

Evacuation Orders are in effect:

An immediate threat to life. This is an order by law enforcement to leave immediately. The area is lawfully closed to public access.

A potential threat to life and/or property. Those who require additional time to evacuate and those with pets and livestock should leave immediately.

Command

The CA Team 11 with IC Fogle took command of the fire at 0700 hours last Sunday, August 24, 2024.

Resources

There is a total of 791 personnel along with 16 crews, 30 engines, five bulldozers, nine helicopters, and one UAS.

Incident Cooperators

Crew CNMI 36 | This crew was the only one in the State of California for 60 days and on their first assignment with the Six Rivers National Forest who responded from the island of Saipan in the Mariana Islands.

Nevada National Guard | The 152nd Airlift Wing, Nevada Air National Guard, remains activated in support of the U.S. Forest Service fighting fires around the western U.S. with the Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System (MAFFS). As of today, one C-130 and about 20 personnel remain activated. Total pounds of retardant dropped since the activation began on July 18 is about 1.8 million. Fires fought include the Park Fire, Borel Fire, Boise Fire, and various other fires, mostly in California, ranging from outside Bakersfield to the state’s northern border with Oregon.
