Incident: Okanogan Complex Wildfire
Released: 2 hrs. ago
As of Sunday Morning, September 30, there are no evacuation orders in effect for fires within the Okanogan Complex.
Road Closures have been lifted on the North Fork and South Fork Gold Creek roads. Closures remain in place on the Middle Fork Gold Creek Road (FS4340-100) and on Forest Service road 4330-100.
Today’s emphasis will be on mopping up hotspots to strengthen containment lines on the Buckhorn and Leecher Fires. Hand-held infrared devices, known as Palm IR, will be used in conjunction with information gathered during last night’s infrared flight to help guide crews as they continue mop-up. Firefighters are also working to repair disturbance caused by fire suppression activities and retrieving hose-lays and equipment from the fireline.
Firefighters continue to monitor and patrol the Hunter Fire.
The demobilization process is underway. Firefighting resources excess to the needs of the Okanogan Complex are returning home or being assigned to other fires.
Fire danger remains high. Campfires are prohibited except in designated campgrounds or in the Pasayten and Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness.
