Job Classification: Entry-Level Firefighter/EMT

The City of Snoqualmie is currently building an ongoing eligibility list for Entry-Level Firefighter/EMT.  Currently, they have two vacancies in hopes of being filled before the summer of 2014.  This position requires FireTEAM through National Testing Network and a valid CPAT.

 Salary Information: $5,322 per month (starting)

 Department Overview: The City of Snoqualmie Fire Department is a tight-knit combination fire department.  The Department serves the 11,000 citizens residing within the Snoqualmie city limits, and provides contract fire and EMS services to the Snoqualmie Casino and Echo Glen Children’s Center. The fire department is a full-service fire department and provides fire and EMS response, BLS transport to local hospitals, and swift-water and high-angle technical rescue response. The fire department responded to 1,125 incidents in 2013.

 Area Information: The City of Snoqualmie is in the lush and majestic Snoqualmie Valley located just off Interstate 90 and 25 miles east of Seattle.  This popular affluent community is a wonderful place to call home. From the mountain pass just 30 miles to the east, or down town Seattle 25 miles to the west, there is always something to do. The area is also home to the second most visited tourist site in the State of Washington – Snoqualmie Falls. The area is also home to many outdoor activities to include hiking and mountain biking. Notably, 35% of the Snoqualmie Population is 18 years old or younger. This young demographic and scenic part of the Snoqualmie Valley creates an energetic and vibrant community.

High School Grad/GED: Yes
Valid WASHINGTON State Driver’s License: Yes
Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
Vision: 20/20 with or without corrective lenses
Necessary Certifications: IFSAC Firefighter 1 or equivalent
NREMT (WA State Cert is preferred)
