Updated 1800 Hours PDT
A wildfire broke out on private land on the Blue Ridge Reservoir this morning around 0800 hours. The land is surrounded by the Coconino National Forest, prompting deployment of State resources to the scene.
Fire started on the S side of the reservoir across from the boat ramp.
The fire is 100 acres.
Fire fuels include grass, ponderosa pine and timber.
The cause is unknown and currently under investigation.
Command is being handled by Coconino NF IC Stevens.
This morning there was 80 personnel assigned to this incident with more en route.
CNF fire crews are assisting AZ State personnel, as the fire began on unincorporated private land which falls under the jurisdiction of the state.
There are currently (2) Type-1 crews, (1) Fuels crew, (5) Engines, (1) Helitanker and (1) Type-3 helicopter.
There are no homes or structures under threat at this time.
Vehicle access to C.C. Cragin (aka Blue Ridge) Reservoir is currently closed to the public and the Forest Road 751—the main forest road that leads to the reservoir
