Incident Summary | The Pleasant Fire has been burning since February 18, 2018, which ignited around 1412 hours on Sunday.  The fire has burned 2,070 acres and crews have reached an 85% containment status.

Current Fire Conditions | Mop-up operations continued today.

Fire Weather | Winds and below freezing temps continue in the area have not hampered containment progress.  Fire Managers are expected full containment of the incident by Saturday, February 24, 2018.  More resources are expected to be released after full containment efforts have been reached.

Cause | Cause is unknown and under investigation.

Command | Unified  Command is made up of CAL FIRE – San Bernardino Unit, Inyo County Sheriff’s Office and CHP.

Resources |  Personnel have dropped from 400 to 313 assigned to this incident alongside 14 fire engines, 16 fire crews and two bulldozers.

Incident Cooperators |  CAL Fire – SBU, Inyo USFS, CHP, CDC, CAL TRANS, Inyo Co SO, Mono Co SO, Paradise FD, DWP, Mammoth Fire, Bishop Fire, Big Pine Fire, Independence Fire, Lone Pine Fire, Long Valley Fire, Wheeler Crest Fire, Red Cross and Edison.

Shelter | An evacuation shelter is still open for displaced residents and their animals is located at the Bishop Tri-County Fairgrounds located at 1234 Fair Street in Bishop, California 93514.  Their phone number is 760-813-3588.

Closures | Brockman Lane (north of HWY 395), 5 Bridges Road, Pleasant Valley Reservoir Road, Jean Blanc Road, and Dixon Lane (west of housing area towards Brockman) Pleasant Valley Campground is closed. Escorts by Inyo Sheriff for emergency necessity only. Pit Campground is closed; however, escorts are available to retrieve belongings through BLM.

Damage Assessment | There have been no homes reported as damaged or destroyed, nor any injuries to civilians or fire crews as being reported reported.  The cost-to-date has reached an all-time high of $1.6 Million.
