THURSTON COUNTY, Wash. – A wildfire broke out in Capitol Forest on Monday, July 2, 2018 around 0800 hours. This was the second fire to hit the area in the last 72 hours. The first one occurred on June 2nd around 1725 hours burning up .01 acre.
This wildfire prompted resources E-123, E-262, E-804 MOHLER and IC KIBBE to be dispatched.
Fire fuels include grasses, brush, slash and timber.
Approximately 8.5 acres were scorched and as of 1456 on Monday, fire crews had reached a 75% containment status.
Night shift operations are still on-scene.
