The MCKINNEY FIRE ignited this afternoon around 1438 hours, on Hwy 96 and McKinney Creek Road and about 1.5 miles west of Walker Creek Bridge on the south side of the Klamath River. , just southwest of Klamath River on the Klamath National Forest.

The fire is estimated at 175 acres in size with observed fire behavior as active.
Update 2015 | Some media reporting, that the fire has now burned 300-plus acres.
There are five crews, 12 engines, five water tenders, and two dozers with more on order.
