The WEASEL FIRE is burning 14 miles northeast of Eureka Montana, which was sparked by lightning on July 30, 2022.
Structure protection of the Weasel Cabin has been wrapped as part of the fire operations’ structure protection activities.

Command of the fire is under the direction of IC Stevenson, with a Type 3 IMT.
USFS – Kootenai National Forest.
===== SIZE UP =====
The fire has burned about 155 acres and there is an unknown containment status.
Fire behavior is moderate with torching, and spotting.
Structures are under threat.
Road closures are in effect.

- National Forest System Road 319 (Theriault Lakes Road) from Fountain Creek Trailhead, north to the end of the Road.
- Fortine Ranger District for NFS Road #319 (Therriault Lakes Road).
