Baker Canyon Fire | Mar 27th | Update 6

FIRE INCIDENT SUMMARY, STATUS

Firefighters on the Baker Canyon Wildfire, that originated 28 miles NE of Douglas, Arizona have successfully reached a 70% containment status.

Most of the fire activity is located on the New Mexico side.  Altogether, 7900 acres have been consumed.

Fire Managers are still working landowners and ranchers.

The fire ignited on the inside the State of Arizona on March 21, 2016.  The cause is still under investigation and there is no preliminary known reason on how it all began.

1 home and 6 outbuildings are still threatened.

No injuries have been reported.

 

RESOURCES

Assigned to this wildfire incident are 65 personnel.  Fire Managers are fighting the fire with 1 Air Attack that includes 1- Type 3 Helicopter, 3 Engines and 1- Type 2 crew.
