Size Up | Fire suppression has been hampered by high winds at times.  The fire has scorched 900 acres (while other media outlets reporting up to 1,000 acres) and growing quickly.  There is a zero-percent containment status.  The fire had been at 100 acres at time of it starting to 900 acres within a short few hours.  It is currently burning in the Pleasant Valley area but is heading towards Laws Railroad Museum.

Evacuations |  Inyo County Sheriff’s Office stated there are NO lifted evacuation orders as of 2140 hours PST. (We are thinking someone misreported that the evacuation orders had been lifted, hence, the strong response from the Sheriff’s Office that they have not been lifted).   Evacuation orders are still in order for Meadow Creek, Pleasant Valley campgrounds and Laws Museum.

Eastern Sierra Transit has partnered up with the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office to assist with evacuations.
