ARCHIE CREEK FIRE

The ARCHIE CREEK FIRE is burning 20 miles east of Glide and just east of Roseburg in the north Umpqua drainage on the west slope of the Cascades.

The fire broke out and quickly spread to state, private and federal lands in the State of Oregon on September 9, 2020 from an unknown cause. It is currently under investigation.

Fire behavior is moderate with group torching, short-range spotting and backing. About 125,498 acres have been consumed but crews have reached a 15% containment status today.

There are 708 total personnel assigned along with 9 crews, 1 helo and 22 engines.

There has been 109 homes and 2 other structures destroyed.  At this time, 1,545 homes are under current threat.  7 other structures have been damaged. Costs for fire suppression and containment costs have reached $3.1 Million dollars to date.
