Published Sunday, July 24, 2022, 1600 hours PT

The DODGE SPRINGS FIRE is located about 30 miles north of Mesquite and 25 miles southeast of Caliente, directly on the Utah and Nevada state line. It was sparked by lightning which struck the area and ignited the wildfire.

The fire was reported at 1445 hours on Thursday, July 21, 2022.

Fire management is under the direction of a Type 3 IC Ruben Rowe.

There is 236 total personnel.

Fire behavior has been observed as active with uphill runs, short crown runs, and flanking. The fire has burned about 5,612 acres of short grass and timber. It has a 5% containment status.
