Sit Rep 1 | Monday, April 28, 2025, 1745 hours PDT


State resources were dispatched on Monday, April 28, 2025, around 1127 hours MST to the Stronghold Fire include the following: Div 3, BC 3-4, BC 3-1, CAPT 3-5, CAPT 3-4, A3S, E631, CAPT 3-3, LOGS 2, and CAPT 3-1.

This is Incident #AZA3S-250594

The fire has burned about 750 acres, which was said to have started around 1130 hours. Fire resources and equipment were quickly en route to the wildfire incident located in Sunsites/Pearce and about 16 miles south of Cochise County, Arizona.

At this time, there are approximately 100-plus fire personnel under the direction of DFFM Incident Commander Eric Huddleston. Other resources assigned to this incident include the following:

Fire behavior has been observed as moving at a high rate of spread that is wind-driven, while pushing fire in all different directions. Heavy fire fuels include grass, brush, oak, and juniper.
