The SHAFFER FIRE is located near Shaffer Road and Oakdale Road in Winton (Merced County), California.

Around 1243 hours PDT, firefighters responded to the fire.

Less than one hour later, the fire’s forward progression would be stopped, and resources would be said to be on the scene for an additional two hours for mop-up operations.

The fire was said to be held to approximately two acres and was previously moving at a moderate of fire spread.

No structures were reported as damaged or threatened at the height of the incident.
