Update: 7/17/2026 @ 1845 PT: The cause is a vehicle into a power pole.

OREGON – The EAST EVANS CREEK RD FIRE is located 14 miles northeast of Rogue River, which ignited on July 10, 2026, from a human-caused ignition that is currently under investigation.

Fire behavior has been observed by Fire Officials as extreme, with spotting, short crown runs, and group torching. It is still threatening structures, prompting evacuation orders to remain in effect.

The fire has burned about 13,090 acres of timber and brush. It has a 5% containment status.

Management of the fire is in Unified Command, consisting of:

  • ODF Team (Quiñones)
  • OSFM Blue Team (Bregman)

Resources include 1,987 total personnel with 57 crews, 118 engines and 14 helicopters.

There has been one report of a single structure as being lost.
