NEW! #DoveFire Ignites on the Sierra National Forest – June 7, 2016

Incident Summary

The #DoveFire started today, June 7th at 1230 Hours on the Sierra National Forest, located near the Jersey Dale work center.  It was near 20-30 acres in size and burning in heavy dead and downed fuels and now getting into the timber, bringing the total to consumed at 70 acres.

All available fire personnel have been called to fight this fire with 100 personnel currently assigned and more on  order.

Resources include:  (12) engines, a water tender, (2) Type 1 Hot Shot crews, (2) Air tankers, (2) helicopters, (1) SNF Air Attack and (3) bulldozers.
