Rough Ridge Fire burns over 3,000 acres

About 3,923 acres have been consumed but fire crews have successfully reached a 10% containment status.

A portion of the fire was observed by fire crews as crossing over a control line near Jones Settlement but they were able to quickly contain it.  The Northern side of the fire is backing down into the Jacks River drainage while the Western side moves towards East Cowpen Trail.

Due to extreme drought conditions and the location of the fire, Fire Managers are allowing the fire to burn naturally.
